This is an 8.2 kWp solar system, with an 8 kW inverter and 11 kWh of battery capacity, roughly sufficient for a medium-sized household, and it includes installation (Gauteng only).
Grow your system
This solar kit is designed for you to expand your system in the future. All components can easily be added on later. For example, additional secondary batteries can be added later, and solar panels can be added as well.
Details
The panels that make up the kit will provide 20 x 410 Wp or 8.2 kWp per hour - and if you get the total 5.5 sun hours a day, you will get about 40 kWh of power - sufficient to charge the 11 kWh batteries every day and power most of the loads.
Before installing a solar system, we strongly encourage you to try lowering your electricity consumption by using gas for heating, water and cooking, LED lights, and other energy-efficient appliances. Look at our blog on 9 easy steps towards a home solar installation.
Installation terms and conditions
The indicative price including installation assumes a straight-forward installation in Gauteng province. Factors that may necessitate additional cost for installation include quality of existing wiring, 3-phase wiring, unusual distance between the roof and distribution board, the need for scaffolding to access the roof, travel costs out of Gauteng, quality of existing wiring, etc. The system registration cost at your municipality is not included because these costs differ widely between municipalities. The final quote prepared will include SSEG submission. The installation includes:
- Labour
- Wiring
- Trunking
- Boxes
- Solar Panels
